Beachcomber

Thank you so much for welcoming me back!
My spirit is still trying to find its way back from Italy. Or maybe it is not so much trying... I'm finding it difficult to get back into normal mode.

I thought I would share some of my beach treasures with you. What do I love most about the beach? Beachcombing, of course!!!! I could spend the rest of my life just walking along the beach picking up interesting stones and things - really. I love beachcombing. Even if August is not really the best month for beachcombing in Italy (most of Italy is on vacation and at the beach in August), I still manage to get an hour or two of beachcombing into our vacation. I infected my husband with this bug early in our relationship, so we do this together.
What did we find? Take a look:

some driftwood

beach treasures

more beach treasures

Maybe I should have gotten the pebbles wet before taking the pictures, the colours are more intense then. I think these pebbles are just as beautiful as any other semi precious stone. I am thinking of how I can use them in my jewellery...

While I was away, the number of my blog followers reached 50! I am humbled; that so many of you think it worth your while to stop by here - thank you for your support!!
I think this calls for a celebration of sorts! Too bad I can't invite you all over for a glass of wine! But maybe a giveaway is in order!? I'm just not sure what to offer - I will give it some thought this week. Suggestions, anybody? Stay tuned, I think we will do this on Friday.

By the way, my kitties seem to have missed me, while I was away. Now they are robbing my sleep, because they keep bringing in mice for me to play with - live mice, loose in the house. OMGoodness!!

Gosh, how did I miss that you were back? I've missed visiting your lovely blog and seeing your gorgeous photos! Oh, your beach finds look wonderful - Daniel and I do the same when we go to the beach out here. He came home from the river just yesterday with a bunch of driftwood... So glad you are back!! Hugs, Silke

Beachcombing is my favorite activity of all. And like you I have taught my husband to help with it. Your treasures are gorgeous and I know how much they mean to you having searched so carefully for each one.

I relate completely to not being able to get back into "normal" mode after vacation. I've been home since Monday afternoon and I still don't feel "adjusted". And you know what? I don't want to "adjust". I'm liking this very much at the moment! :)

Love the treasures you found in your beach combing!! It was much too hot in South Carolina for doing much beach combing so I simply reveled in walking in the surf and standing in the surf of the ocean swells.

As for the cats bringing you "live" mice...how charming but don't they know momma would prefer them "deceased" or not at all?!?! lol!!! They feel they are paying you homage!!! :)

I would love to send the four leaf clover I found, if you would like! It was touching to hear you believe in them now and you are just one of those sweet faery artist friends I feel so lucky to have met! If you would like a little luck, just email me at

Isn't it addicting to look for goodies on the shores! When we were at the beach this past summer, I got my husband and two kids into combing the beach for similar items! Glad to hear you had a wonderful time!

Beachcombing...we do that constantly too. Unfortunately there just isn't that much at the beach we go to...the other day my son did find a big conch with a sea slug inside and we threw it back in to the ocean. Your stones and beach glass are wonderful...that one stone looks like a hear (or Pac Man sideways). Congrats on all of your blog followers!!! :-)

What beautiful treasures! I, too, love the beach. I was born in Florida, but now live in northern Alabama, but I hope to return to the coast someday to live out my old age :+}. I think I was born with salt water in my veins. If I ever get to travel...Italy is a country I would love to visit.
Blessings, Lana
