The focal is the casing of an old pocket watch. I have replaced the missing glass with paper, ink and resin. I still need to finish up the resin work, but I wanted to share this today.

While I love the sari ribbon, I really don't wear such bright colours. I love to wear linen, so I decided to make some ribbon to suit my personal style. I like them so much that I definitely will be incorporating these into some of my jewelry.
I also included two resin paddles featuring the words: "find" "balance". These were gifted to me by Mary Jane as part of a trade and I wanted to include them in a very personal piece.

Most of you will remember the first mended heart I created back in January. I will be keeping this one and have finished it with another handpainted linen ribbon.

Wow! What a great way for me to start my blog visiting on the first day of the week. This is gorgeous, Renate. I love the colors and the textures ... everything about it. I know you'll enjoy wearing it!
Oh, Renate, this makes me swoon! While these are all the colors I cannot wear, they always trigger such a feeling of earthy connection in me, of depth and calm. Simply stunning and I bet they'll look gorgeous on you!! What a gifted artist you are!! Much love, Silke
Renate, the linen ribbon you made pulls these beautiful pieces together. I love the colours in the mix of in the first necklace and your mended heart is perfect with your linen ribbon.
Lovely necklaces Ren ! The first one with the old watch, exactly your colours and a beautiful tribute to the great Nina Bagley.
Love the second one too with its simplicity.
Eine wunderschöne Kette - gefällt mir sehr. Und das Design - ungewöhnlich. Auch du bist eine Inspiration für andere. Liebe Grüße, Inge

That is a stunning design. It has so much personal meaning, and the colors are so fresh. I am a bit shy of color too but that is my goal this year to shake things up in the color department. Beautiful work! Enjoy the day, Renate! Erin
Beautiful work, Renate. The ribbons and linen go very well together.
Renate!!!
I truly love what you have been working on. The mixture of the soft linen and the hard metal -oooh! I think you have "found balance". Gosh, these pieces are incredible!

gorgeous renate - your linen is beautiful... while it may be inspired by nina, it is decidedly yours... you internalized the aesthetic and it evolved and grew... we are influenced by so many beautiful things that we see, what matters is how it speaks to you.... and these speak loud and clear... i love the subtle color in your piece... so natural...
The ribbons you made are beautiful! The whole necklace is amazing.
Beautiful, Renate! I love the ribbons!
Stunning Renate! I am speechless! These are perfect...I looove the fabrics!!
Beautiful work Renate. Love them. The texture, the hand work, colors, all of it. I like the layered look of the piece, and it is so earthy, just lovely on both. Great eye candy for a Monday. Hugs, Riki
I love how you've combined the wire wrapped stand with the fabric strand, attaching them both to the focal. Really appealing juxtaposition of textures. Love your color scheme as well--strong colors but still soft, and so nice with the copper. Your pocket watch idea was a stroke of genius! I like the idea of taking what is usually considered a man's accessory and turning it into something so feminine. Makes me want to run home and make something with ribbon!
Renate these pieces of Art are gorgeous!
Gorgoeus, gorgoeus, gorgoeus. I love your linnen. Makes me want to try that myself although I love the vibrant colors of the recyceled saris. Nina Bagley is just awesome!
regards Stefanie
