new pieces and what to do on a rainy day

I just finished two more stacked flowers for the artefacts shop.

It has been raining for days. And it is cold. We had planned to go to a garden show yesterday, as it was a holiday, but it rained all day - so we didn't. It is still raining. Well, I can work on my jewelry. But the cats are fed up with getting soaking wet when they go outside. And they are restless. They want to play.

So, what to do on a rainy day? Captain found this entertaining for a while:

What is he playing with? Well, a while back I got a package from Pattie - and in it was a tiny little doll from Mexico. Captain pulled the little doll out of my goodies and has been playing with it ever since. It's his favorite toy. And a paper bag is just irresistable for a cat. Even better than a cardboard box.

Hope the sun is shining for you, where ever you are!

Cats and paper bags.... add catnip and you have the rainy day solution here at RavenWood. When I used to teach away in summers and was gone three days out of the week, I'd set up a "paper bag course" for my two house-bound kitties. Lots of paper bags a few filled catnip and toy mice... they would race around flattening bags and having a grand time! These days, Pasha still enjoys the course even without his sister to play with him... sometimes I have to be the other cat, its great fun!

your pieces are beautiful... ahhh, paper bags for kitties are the best... and even better when you come back from the grocery store and they smell like cold cuts! :0) hope your rain begins to stop soon... i think someone needs to inform the skies that april showers bring may flowers...

Oh, Renate, I wish I could send you some of our sun and a few of our temperatures. It's almost 30 degrees Celsius and I'd be just fine with 20! We have had an unusually dry spring and I think you are getting all of our rain! I hope the sun comes out soon... Love, Silke

Renate...such beautiful stacked metal flowers! I think my favorite is the 2nd one. Your Captain is a sweet little kitty...gotta create your own fun on a rainy day! I hope the sun comes out for your weekend!

Your May rains sure created beautiful copper flowers! Our new kitty will be called Captain Morgan, and he will be a gray tabby too. I just love tabby's, they have so much personality! Your guy is just so handsome!

HAAAAHaaaahaaaaa!!!!

How hysterical Hermanita!! :) There must be a bit of Mexican in Captain :) It's so small I'm surprised he hasn't swallowed it, although it's gotta be awful dry and tasteless. Has he named his best bud yet?? Now, here cats love to play with La Cucaracha!! :)

I love the second flower it reminds me of the beautiful old wild roses. Simple, beautiful, and quiet.
