Sunday flea market - at last

I was beginning to feel withdrawal symptoms. I haven't been to a flea market in 5 weeks! Can you imagine my anticipation this morning?
We did get the forecasted snow and rain during the night - which deterred many of the usual sellers, I guess. The huge lot seemed half empty. But there were lots of huge puddles and my boots started to soak through by the time we were done.
I think I did pretty well scoring treasures, inspite of it all.

A little wooden box full of lace snippets. I haven't even looked at all the pieces yet - but I am looking forward to it!

I was delighted to find someone selling old raw stampings and castings - filigrees, settings, a bible locket and look at that hand pendant!

Some bits and pieces - a broken locket, a piece of chain and some buttons inlaid with mother of pearl.

This is what the other side of the broken locket looks like. A typical Biedermeier piece.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!

Thank goodness. I was having flea market withdrawal! The broken locket is quite the find and I can think of a zillion things you could do with it.

That hand was worth the wet feet! And the locket, you will be able to do wonderful things with it. Glad you had such a successful day.

I don't know what "a typical Biedermeier piece" is but I can tell you there is nothing typical about it in the states... just beautiful...I'm drooling. Oh and the lace I want to reach in the picture and pick through it.

Enjoy!

Hello Renate
I'm sorry I've been away...trying to catch up on blogs while still visiting all of the Bead Soup blogs as well. I'm happy to see you've returned to the flea market. I had that experience ALL day with Lori today...wow, what a great time! And I found a couple of those spool cabinets I mentioned before! I'd be curious to know if the examples you see in Germany are similar to the ones from old "General Stores" here.

Your finds are so gorgeos - especially the stampings. Are those Scottie dogs I see in that picture?? And the broken locket is so beautiful... looks like you had fun! And I'm wondering if you're going again tomorrow...
