out in the garden

We are having amazing weather and instead of rummaging through boxes at the flea market, I am rummaging through the plant debris in my garden - sort of spring cleaning, I guess.
The weather is very warm for April. Not likely to stay that way, but warmth and sunshine are very welcome after the long winter. The kitties are loving it. The birds are loving it. I am loving it. Even the plants are loving it. Take a look....

Clematis shoots.

Bleeding heart shoots, surrounded by columbines.

Primroses.

Hellebores. I love hellebores...

Wild violets. These pop up in the garden wherever they want. They're wild things, don't you know.

Wishing you a wonderful spring Sunday, wherever in the world you are!

you have such variety already! i have planted primroses in the past but as tender perennials they don't often reappear... violets have always been some of my favorites precisely because they surprise you in the places they appear... hope your weather holds for a bit.. people and furry friends need sunshine to bask in...

I love hellebores also. Mine are gorgeous now. It seems the worse the winter the better they like it.

Spring! It is lovely to see your garden coming back to life after a long winter. The violets make me think of the ones my grand daughter found when we were walking in the woods last week. I would have missed them because they were so buried in leaf litter. They are one of my favourite colours.

This time of year I tend to want to sleep in my garden rather than do anything else! It's so enlivening, to get back outside after the winter. Your garden looks so lush already, my goodness. Violets are one of my favorite - wild things indeed :) And I also love columbine and bleeding heart too...

I seem to have lost my lavender this year, it is a loooong winter. There are some signs of life out in my garden, but yours is really ahead, and beautiful Renate! I could look at your flower pictures all day!

Hello, Renate! Can it be? Your beautiful garden is coming back to life again! As I said before, it seems like just yesterday that you were sharing the new buds you were discovering, poking out after a long winter. I'm glad to hear it is warming up there and that you are enjoying your garden once again.
