more work in progress

I have been further experimenting with the faux shibuichi technique, which I want to use on my 'prayer scrolls'. Every new experiment and every step gives me another inspiration how to use this. This is where I am so far:

I love the achievable texture, although the material has its own challenges - it is much harder to work than copper or silver. The results are very rewarding. Hoping to have these pieces finished soon.

Such lovely work, it inspires me to get out my beads and go to work myself-I've been in a little slump lately.

S/R - great work - the detail work is exquisite - and just so fits with the notion of being a protective wrapper for a personal sacred scroll. Great concept, design and execution. Thanks for sharing. B

Irgendwas stimmt nicht mit Blogger bei mir. Meinst Du, ich hätte diese tollen Stücke aufploppen sehen? Traumhaft sind die. Gottlob sind sie mir nicht durch gerutscht!

Is the Shibuichi the base metal? How did you make the patterns on the top? It suits your style perfectly. Really looking forward to seeing the end result.
