Finished! or maybe not yet...

So - here is the finished necklace. I really like the way the beaded necklace looks. But there is still something about it that I am not sure I am happy with... I am going to put it on Miranda - do you remember Miranda, my trusty dressmaker's mannequin? - and just contemplate it for a while. We will see.

Vintage leather, vintage linen, silk rod, copper, ostrich shell beads, peridote nuggets, carved citrine leaf bead, African recycled glas beads, African sandcast brass beads, small brass and glass beads from India.
Kind of like another prayer flag talisman...

Wishing everyone a beautiful Saturday!

Oh, I do love this. I think it all flows together very nicely. The green is so fresh and spring. I particularly like how the clasps are integrated into the design. You don't really even see them as clasps. Beautiful!

Renate, I think this piece has a wonderful paradox. It is very earthy with the leather, copper, and peridot, yet it has the spiritual intention of being a prayer flag. Perhaps it is that dichotomy that makes you unsure... but I think it is lovely.

Renate ... that's beautiful! what is your dilemma my fren? is it color? is it bead combination? try and suss that out first if you are not satisfied. but you are right, if you are not satisfied with it, let it rest (on Miranda) and then come back to it another day to look at it with fresh eyes :) you'll know eventually :)

sometimes if you ask a friend to put it on...or wear it yourself...I think it’s a fab piece.

I like it a lot, and I think maybe you are unsure because it a bit of a departure from what you have done before, yet it is so much your style. I think you should LOVE it...I do!

S/R - beautifully resolved - and one thinks in the folds of the linen and silk there could be sacred messages. Go well. B
