Winter

Late yesterday afternoon, we took a walk down through the now empty hop gardens, through the woods and along the road back home. The temperatures had dropped during the previous night and it snowed a bit.

The air was crisp and cold.

The trees were powdered with snow.

A hop garden silhouetted against the sky.

Glorious evening sky.

Snow? Tell me about it!

Can't move for the stuff up here in the Scottish Borders. Hope it soon fades away. Lovely as it is to look at it does make life a tad too difficult for so many.

That's a lovely orange sky you've captured. Happy and healthy new year!

You may not have much snow, but you have more than we do.

I agree with Philip, that is a gorgeous sky!

I love a fresh light snow, especially when it just barely frosts the landscape. The evening sky is just lovely.

So, so beautiful! I always find a snowy landscape so enchanting! And when the air turns crisp - wonderful!! Enjoy some snow for me!! We are having freezing temps at night, but only because there are no clouds - as soon as there are clouds, the air warms up and it only rains... Hugs, Silke
P.S. my sister asked for your e-mail - she loves the earrings so much, she might contact you maybe a matching necklace...

A brisk walk, on a crisp day can be so refreshing. I love how you have found the beauty in the bleakness of the terrain...proving that what we look for we can find. That sky is incredible!!!

Renate, You take the most beautiful photographs! The bottom one with the orange sky and the silhouetted trees is my favorite! Even though I'm on another continent, many things are not so different.

Lovely pictures Renate. I love getting to see how you are living over there. WE on the other hand, are having temperatures 15 degrees below normal and with wind chill that puts us at 4 degrees F. That's not good for a southern state! Plus, we don't have beautiful snow scenes to go along with the cold. Although we do get the occasional drizzle of it. This morning it looked like glitter! Stay warm Renate.
