Sunday Flea Market

Today is a perfect flea market day - the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the temps have gone up to a wonderful balmy 20°C - what could be better? Well, if my husband didn't have to work today - that would have been better. But so, off I went on my own.

Look - it's spring!

garden decorations - not vintage

Of course, not everything you see at the flea market is antique, vintage or even old. Sometimes, what you see is simply new. Like those garden decorations. They are made to look old.
Or the jewelry and shawls below - not pretending to be old, just lovely. This guy always has a beautifully colour coordinated table. Yummy!

Wow, there was alot to see today. First; I thought the pickings were pretty slim. I had covered 3/4 of the flea market and only found one piece to take home. But that last quarter - it was full of stuff. Just look!

brass castings
There was a whole box of these brass and red brass castings. Some awesome Art Deco jewelry designs in there! But - I have a limited budget - so, it was a case of pawing through the whole to find what pieces I could use.

vintage watch with rhinestones

vintage rhinestone connectors

chandelier crystals

vintage linen cord and vintage silk buttonhole thread

See that last picture - I don't know what they are called in English. Some sort of garden stakes, to keep the perennials from overflowing on the walkway. Not that I need them for my flowers. I have something different in mind - but more about that some other time.

Hope you enjoyed the flea market with me today. I spent 3 hours there and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Have a wonderful Sunday, where ever you are!

That was a great day in fact ! A lot of sun and many beautiful things to look at.
And for my own part, especially interested by the old chairs, the brass castings and the chandelier crystals.
Thanks for sharing dear Ren.
Have a beautiful week end and cuddles to your little.

That kitchen dresser is lovely, especially with all of that colourful vintage ceramics on it. I don't know what you call those garden things in English either but I am sure it will come to me probably in the middle of the night. You are such a great treasure hunter!

Ohhh, Neid! Euer Flohmarkt sieht so viel schöner aus. Ich war heute auf DREIEN und habe nur eine alte Metallfeile und zwei Schlüssellochbeschläge ergattert. Der Rest war Schrott oder völlig überteuert. Tolle Sachen hast Du gefunden:-)

Renate, whenever I see your pictures I wish so that I could go too!!! Your flea markets are really incredible..and the fact that they are scheduled EVERY week makes you one lucky lady! Nothing like that at all around here! I love the old tins, the wooden carousel horse, and those (gasp!) rhinestone connectors the best! Looks like a great day once again at the Flea Market! :-)

Cool photos of lots of neat collectibles! The vintage watch looks like it's in great condition, and the metal brass findings are interesting. The vintage findings are wonderful for making vintage styled jewelry. :)

My favorite booth pictured would have to be the one with the multicolored stripe rug that is being used as a table cover! He looks like he has some great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
