What I did this weekend

We had wood delivered this weekend. 25 cubic meters. Those piles up there are only 16 cubic meters. The other 9 were already stacked in the shed, when I took these pictures. The last photo is our woodshed all filled up - there are about 33 cubic meters total of wood stacked in there. The cold weather can come; we are ready.
But, oh man, do I ache all over now.

Oh my goodness but do I sympathize with you! I remember well stacking wood when we heated with a wood stove. But it is so worthwhile as I thing there is nothing better than wood heat.

OMG what a huge amount of wood. There is something very satisfying about stocking up

You'd have to haul me off in that wheelbarrow if I tried to do something like that! That's a lot of wood!

Oh, it looks so cozy, but like it was sooooo much work! That calls for a long soak in the bathtub... Happy Sunday evening!! Love, Silke

Oh my gosh, what a day but so worth it when the weather changes. I'm amazed at how much wood is in there...but I guess it's best to have more than you need than not enough. Got to keep that studio nice and warm so you can create all winter long!

WOW! I can't imagine stacking all that wood. I hope you had a long relaxing bath and a adult beverage. You deserve it.

You know Renate, your place comforts like no other. Thanks for always showing me such warmth and beauty. I am patiently waiting for some normalcy again. Miss you and wish you all the joy a day can hold. Blessings.

Renate, I can remember when you shared a similar picture last year and how amazed I was that you collected this amount of wood! It is a staggering amount of wood...and it seemed like the winter was SO cold there and lasted forever. I can't believe we will be facing this cold again so soon - my how time flies. I hope you have had the chance to relax and that you don't feel too sore!

As a rural person, I find the sight of stacked firewood supremely comforting and very satisfying. Knowing how much work it was makes it all the more special when you finally get to come in to the warmth after a cold, rainy trip home. Congrats!
