Finished pieces

I finished the prayer bead piece this week - an archaic kind of necklace. It is big, full of emotion and thoughts.

And the woodland necklace was completed - the focal has moss preserved beneath resin and drops of labradorite. The necklace itself is a medley of labradorite, prehnite, jade and forged leaves, one of which is part of the clasp.

I haven't any new kitten photos to share - there was too much going on this week and I didn't want another pic of sleeping kittens. But they are doing much better - we have finally found an antibiotic that can combat the bacteria we are dealing with; their eyes are no longer infected and they are soooo energetic... Their skinny mama has also put on weight, since the kittens are on solid food and is generally also in much better condition. I am still fighting the cat flu in two of the older kittens, but the antibiotica is also helping there, so I'm hoping we will be through this situation soon.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday.

Renate these pieces show such strength. Love the idea of the moss preserved in the resin. You certainly have been busy. Glad to hear the feline family is on the mend.

Beautiful work, Renate. Love the Woodland piece. What great idea to preserve the moss and the labradorite are my favorite stone. They look beautiful hanging from your pendant. I bet this would be fun to wear!

Your prayer bead piece is so full of emotion and beauty. It is truly a wonderful piece. I love that you preserved a bit of moss in your lovely woodland piece. Happy to hear that the kitties are on the mend. Cat flu is such a devastating illness and so hard to deal with.

where to begin? you pieces have a powerful presence and yet are as still and peaceful as one could hope... to do this is so difficult... your choices in beads are always perfect - rich with color yet translucent so as not to be cumbersome... i am always appreciative of your ability to work on a large scale and maintain the balance of weight and delicacy... i am with the others and really do love when you set mosses in your work - your leaves are just beautiful - strong and delicate... again, your work contains such balance... must have felt wonderful to finish them...

These are both wonderfully strong, beautiful, passionate pieces. Yet so different in their own ways. Rightfully so, when considering the context of the prayer bead necklace. Renate you put your emotions into these and they came out with brilliance. True works of art.

I am so happy to hear the kitty family is doing better. I think of them so much as I pet and feed and play with my four. Thank you for all you have and will be doing for them.

You have created major works of art Renate! The resined moss is so fantastic, and the elements in the prayer piece are exquisite...really so beautiful and touching.
I hope things are better for you soon, you have had so much to deal with...thinking of you always.
Hugs.

as expected, the pieces did turn out filled with energy and soul. you make really beautiful jewelry that touch my heart Renate ... and i don't say that lightly. there is a kind of poignancy in your pieces ... a yearning. but they have strength and tenacity. i'm not just saying these 2 pieces ... i'm saying all the work that you so. they talk to me.
