work in progress

A few days ago, I mentioned I had a focal with sari silk and resin in the works. I am still working on finishing it into a necklace, but I wanted to show you the focal. Here it is:

brass focal with copper, sari silk,
resin, brass dragonfly

These are some other pieces that are in the making. Etched copper on one side, a bit of ink, stamps and resin on the other side. These are making me really happy. I hope you like them too!

Renate, these are so gorgeous! And I don't see how there is a "front" or "back" side..each is so pretty and could be worn in front! I love seeing your wonderful experiments..you have been truly touched by inspiration!

oooh this makes me want to etch and do resin!! i really like the little grommets you've added to the holes, really gives it a finished look, and makes me think of leather. the fronts and backs are all equally lovely. I'd have to keep turning them around all day! esp. love the square ones fifth and seventh from the top. they're like old wallpaper or upholstery patterns, or antique ceiling tiles. most excellent!

These are incredible Renate! You are truly in a league of your own! I looove every one, and it is true, there is no front and back!
I especially like the one with the little whimsy flowers and small butterfly, just like our gardens!

Your etched copper is beautiful, it looks like one side is enamel. I really like the last one with the words.

These are so cool..I like the look of both sides, I would have trouble choosing which side to have facing out..but then again, I like having the option to choose. Very cool...

Nice pieces! It's wonderful that you finished both sides! There is just something to be said about a piece of art work that is finished all the way around! Last year I had purchased an assemblage piece and it was so nicely made on the front side, but when I flipped that piece over to look at the back, sadly it was unfinished (glue showing and unpainted)! So kudos to you for making your art work beautiful on both sides!

The sari silk really makes your focal piece really stand out! That sari silk is great stuff!! I bought some and now I'm hooked on it!

These pieces leave me in awe! I wish you lived in Massachusetts so you could teach me how to do this. (And your hubby and that anvil! So cool!)

They are all awesome Ren, both sides of them. Especially the rectangles and that lovely turquoise colour. Oh, and the one with handwriting too.
What a gorgeous work.
