Gem show

Instead of a flea market day, it was a gem show day. I didn't really need a lot of stuff - and there are beads I would like to get, but the sellers don't offer here - but I was in a sort of ethnic mood, I guess. This is my booty:

Onyx flowers and mother of pearl leaves.

Tiny cream coloured freshwater pearls.

An ethnic assortment - new beads in the traditional Tibetian style.

These are buttons - huge buttons. About 2" x 1.5". Material: horn. I am totally in love with these.

More ethnics - bronze beads from Africa. And those lighter ones - are an alloy of silver and copper - with a lot of copper. Very rustic - very cool.

Some drilled focal beads, mainly jasper and quartz crystals.

Some very long quartz crystals.

I haven't been posting much lately, sorry about that - a heavy work load at the day job, plus some health issues, have slowed me down a bit - and there just hasn't been anything interesting to show you. But I do thank each and every one of you that stops by. Your comments are very much appreciated.
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday, where ever you are.

First and foremost, I wish for you good health, Renate.

Sorry the day job is taking it's toll. Try to stay positive and remember your art is at the end of the tunnel (day).

And lastly, what luscious finds from these venders. I'm right in sync with you on these ethnic pieces. Can't wait to see how you use them!

Hi S - great stash of beads - lots of creative opportunities - love the large buttons - but of course I would probably cut them into slithers. Go and create well. B

Liebe Renate, your finds at the gem show are truly beautiful! I've been to a few of those and every time I felt overwhelmed with how much there was to choose from...

I hope your health issues are nothing serious and send you a big hug from hot and humid Savannah!!

Love, Silke

Hello Renate...what fun you must have had shopping at the gem show! You found some really unique beads, like those leaf-shaped onyx beads. I love the African bead grouping as well.
Like you, I haven't been posting much either - going on a weeklong break already! My internet connection has been slow here at the beach, plus I'm just enjoying being outside more now that it's summer! :-)
