More dramatic sky, and what's in a name

More dramatic thunder clouds on Thursday
About 5 minutes after taking this picture, we had a torrential downpour, hail and extreme winds. It was over in about 10 minutes, but this repeated itself several times during the day. On the weekend, we are supposed to be getting something like summer weather, the temperatures might even go above 25°C!!

New Necklace - from the Elements - Air
Just finished this today. This has been in the works for some time. It just didn't seem to want to come together. Today, it finally did.

This is for the element air. There is a print of faeries in the copper frame, underneath resin. I matched it with lots of sky blue glass beads and some very vintage copper finished steel chain links and some forged copper links.

Rear view - etched copper
I am not at all used to using this bright sky blue. But it really pops, not just on the photos, so I guess this is just right for summer.

Another new necklace, finished today.
A colour enhanced carved sponge coral rose, combined with brass, vintage faux pearls and vintage black lucite beads. Very dramatic (must be the influence of the weather).

For some reason, I can't seem to come up with names for these two necklaces. Anyone have any ideas?

These are both lovely, Renate! Also, I am really liking your new picture in the "about you" section. I thought that was you when you did the painting!! I like it a lot!

Stellar Skyes for the blue...which by the way is absolutely gorgeous!
My two favorites, copper and blue.
Roses are Red for the second...its a beauty too.
I love this time of year with the thunderstorms rolling through. We love to watch them and have been known to stay up half the night waiting for them to come.

Renate, these are just gorgeous! The sky blue one is my favorite - it seems magical somehow - maybe it seems that way because of the fairy print. As to names, I am never very clever at it. I'd probably name them something obvious like "summer sky" and "rose blush." Or how about "Dance of the Fairies" and "Beauty in Bloom." See, not the best at names... :) Silke

Renate, the sky looks like the storm chaser photos. Maybe you needed that to finish the top piece. Both lovely. Names? This is the person who can only ever say "sea things" even after getting such wonderful suggestions.

I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one who is terrible at names. But I do know that I love the second necklace with the rose and the vintage lucite beads. It is fantastic!

Renate, I love your style!!! The necklaces are both great but I really like the one with the rose. As for names maybe Rosalie or Marilyn, (like a old time Hollywood actress) for the red and black.

As always I like you landscape photos, I think it has been a little stormy everywhere, keep safe. I added some storm clouds to my flickr photostream a few days ago. A tornado was very close to my house, I took the photos after I came out of the basement and the tornado was back up in the clouds and had passed us.

These two necklaces are as usual, amazing. I'm loving that pop of blue and the coral rose is very Chinoise in it's elements (in my mind).

As for the photograph of the thunderous sky -- I can't get over how you captured the elements...you have a very artistic eye!
