Work in progress

It has been quite a while since I have been able to share some of the jewelry I have worked on. Most of what I have done in the last few weeks was for our Around the World Necklace Round Robin - and that is still top secret, until we are all done.

I have been experimenting with resin focals lately, embedding images and words in the resin. I wanted to share with you a work in progress with one of the focals.

As you can see, this is not yet completed. But I like the direction it is taking.
I made a clasp for this today, which doesn't really fit in with the rest of the necklace, so I have to start over again. I guess my work style is sort of organic - the pieces just kind of "grow" from a starting point, which is most often the focal point.

I'm loving the colours of this, and the bird of course! I like how you work...where everything grows from a focal point and you can "see" as it grows if you are heading in the direction you are meant to take. Beautiful!

So is the bird a paper image embedded in resin? and then you made a frame for it?
looking lovely- love the copper with the green :D

really, really nice! i like when the pieces show you how they want to grow, sometimes we misunderstand and must start over... this is beautiful... my resin just arrived yesterday - am very excited to try it...

Beautiful. I absolutely love the bird focal and the colours you are working with. I also love seeing the process side of your work. Happy you are able to take a little break from Advent preparations.

Renate, your jewelry has such a magical feel about it - like it might grow out in an enchanted flower garden. This latest necklace is so beautiful - I love that resin focal point. Wonderful!! Hugs, Silke

Yes, it looks like they are growing from the vines coming off the pendant. Those green beads really stand out with the copper and the bird pendant is so sweet. Great job, Renate!

Hermanita,

Your resin focal all are so amazing!!! I have my mermaid sitting out on my desk where I can see it all the time. I have a couple of ideas but nothing that will do your work justice yet. Maybe when you get caught up with all of your Advent preparations you will do a bit of a tutorial for us on creating your focals???

Renate,
what a beautiful piece..and it just seems to have your signature look! I love all of the details..and especially your focal!! I used resin the other night and let's just say it didn't go very well. I think there's a learning curve and I'm at the bottom! Can't wait to see more!
