This is what my world looked like this morning.
What you can't see in this photo is the fact that it is snowing. It has been snowing since the early hours of yesterday morning. Nonstop. The streets are a mess. Traffic is a mess. Cars sliding around. No fun driving to work and back.
The birds are hungry. Constantly. I have been trying again and again to get a good shot of them. Not a chance. Always a flutter.
Two chickadees and a blackbird. All this snow is making it even more difficult for them. Even if I put out a kilo of bird seed (which I did this morning), it gets covered by the snow so quickly.
We will just have to hope that it will finally stop - but at the moment, it doesn't look that way.

That's what my world looked like again this morning too. The snow is pretty, though. But not so nice to deal with. So good of you to feed the birds. It becomes such a struggle for them in snow.
No snow for the moment here in Brittany, but a super cold wind and some snowflakes. The see is full of incredibly beautiful waves.
Thanks for the birds Renate, they really seem to need food and thoughts for people who have no roof over their head.
The snow has stopped here in Ohio for the moment, but we do have 8-10inches. It's beautiful and a real workout to walk in!
We got 10" yesterday Renate, and I had myself a nice jewelry day! But I have has enough! I do love the birds though...I can watch them all day!
we got about 20" yesterday... but renate, you surely deserve a break!! my birds are reminding me of my teenaged son lately - bottomless pits!
I feel so lucky here in CA. we just have grey skies with a little rain. I'm so glad you are feeding the birds, I"m sure they appreciate it. Stay warm and don't give up hope!!! Spring is coming.
I'm hoping that the snow has stopped falling here for the rest of this winter...it's be terrible!
How sweet of you to take care of the poor birds. I always wonder here in California, when the rain is pounding and they're fighting cold wind, how they survive it. My two cats keep me from feeding them in my yard, which seems like a cruel trick, but I really love birds and watching them. Those little chickadees are so darling. We don't have them here.
Stay warm!
OH HERMANITA.
Be brave I'd box you up a huge parcel of sunshine and warmth if I could!!!! But I can send all the positive karma I can muster!!

Hello Renate! Your scene looks just like ours. And we've been trying to feed the birds too. What I found worked the other day was placing bird seed on top of the mailbox...they were coming and landing there. I saw blackbirds, a cardinal, a little brown bird and a woodpecker in the tree! Sending warm thoughts your way!
You are really having such a hard, harsh winter.
Those poor birds...you are a good heart to put out the seed, even if it gets covered over with snow...they'll dig and find it.
With the crazy weather patterns we realize it isn't just we humans who are affected...it does something to the whole eco system of the world.
Lovely pictures, Wish I was there Renate! Still for us only the cold. Oh sure we get a few flurries, but nothing to write blogland about! And we have to refill the bird feeders every other day.
PS: Here's my address to send the snow:
724 No Snow Lane
Cold Weather, BR 27 !!
It looks like the birds know where to get the best treats are. Beautiful snow pictures. Spring will be here before you know it.
Beautiful pics with all those sweet little birds! Have a great weekend & a Happy Valentines Day!
We bought a bunch of bird seed and cast it out and it is GONE this AM.
I wish them warmth. Hope you are filled with happy times. Stunning jewels again!!!! Blessings friend.
