We have a lot of early morning fog and mist this time of year. When I looked out this morning, I saw the sun shining through the mist in the most lovely way and had to get my camera.
These pictures were all taken within a few short minutes. I love the way the light changes and gets more intense. I took about 50 pictures, but since they are all rather similar (I was trying to get some good shots with the birds in the bushes. I was thinking of you, Sharon!) I just picked out a couple of them to show. I think I need to get the paints out again...

These are wonderful! Isn't digital the greatest?! I mean ... back in the old days it would cost you a pretty penny to develop 50 pictures!
hoooooooooo so sweet to see the sun when it go to sleep... fantastic pictures!!
The photos are absolutely stunning! What a great eye you have!
Lovely compositions. I often take snapshots in the evenings, when the night sky is dark blue and the Ash tree in my garden is start black.
It creates a silhouette effect, which is how I'd describe your photos.
BTW, you are in S.Germany I see. I was stationed in N.Germany back in 1954/5 for two great years in the RAF. Loved it then and have been back for a short 'memory lane' trip to Monchen Gladbach, Wegberg and surrounding areas. Super time.
That should have read *stark black*, (I'm an eejit!)
Beautiful pictures! We have heavy dewy mornings too. Sometimes its so cool that the mist (we call them spirits)float atop the pond.
I love these kinds of days.
Renate, these are wonderful photos. It is an interesting sequence. I like how the background in the mist/fog is like a ghost image. Yes, do get the paints out again! I really enjoy your painting. I think this type of imagery could be a great inspiration for backgrounds in you work.
OMG, these are fantastic!! The silhouettes of the birds, I'm squeeling with delight!! More paints!!
Great photos, Renate! The leaves are starting to fall here, today, the last day of summer!
Love your photos, it makes me wish for a rainy day.
Yeah, I love the glowing orange as the time progresses. Wonderful pictures, Renate!
