Sunday is flea market day - you all know that to be the general rule for me (with occasional exceptions). Well, today I thought I would give you an idea of what it is like at my favorite flea market.
Whoa, look out for those teeth! You can find the craziest things at the flea market, really!
What did I bring home today?
Goldsmithing tools
I know this doesn't look too exciting, but I love it when I find old goldsmithing tools like this! Most of these are still in working order, so they were a real steal.
Parts of old pocket watches.
A poetry album, in worn red velvet.
Quite different from my usual treasures, but you never know what you will find at the flea market. All the jewellery bits and pieces I saw today were way overpriced, so I didn't buy any.
The sun is shining and it is a glorious day. I hope it is where you are too! Have a lovely Sunday!

Yes! Flea market day!! I love these photographs that show where you go and what it looks like!!
I want that Santa on the rocking horse!! My eye was drawn to that immediately.
You know you say you never know what you will bring back and isn't that some of the fun of a flea market? That you allow your eye to wander to be captured by something even if you don't know what you will do with it or how it will fit in to your life/plans/projects...but you want it simply because it makes something inside you happy!
Oh goodie! A flea market day. I love seeing your treasures and these are no exception. Thanks so much for sharing the scenery. I love Father Christmas on the pony. The lion is indeed fierce. I can't imagine living with those teeth. Have a good week, Renate. Hugs, LeAnn
Oh my! I want to go! In my town, we have a flea market of sorts, but it only happens twice a year (they call it The Street Faire). I love searching through all that stuff for treasures! If I feel like hunting, I have to go to garage sales on the weekends. Are there garage sales in Germany?
If only we knew the stories those object could tell. They have all, obviously, lives an adventurous life and are full of character.
And are the more beautiful because of it.
Looks like lots of fun, I always look forward to seeing what treasures you get. I love the poetry album, how beautiful. Next week I'm going to our large market it will be fun.
oh the poetry album is so beautifully nostalgic. i have an old velvet photo album that i am reminded of.
LOve the photos of your flea market Renate...I wnat to go too! Haven't been for a while, but I really think I have enough STUFF at this point too, and I don't have the itch! The red poetry album is awsesome....maybe the start of an altered book for you?
These are great finds!
Hello My Kindred Sister!!!
I'll take one of everything well... except for the lion rug. I can't imagine a set of eyes looking at me every time I stood on it's back!! :) Oh I agree with Sharon!! I think the velvet album could be a perfect altered book!!!
As for your "new" tools and watch cases both great scores in my mind!!! Gads the only way I got a few watch carcusses was to trade a slimy watch repair guy working watches for carcusses!!! :( Which still made them cheaper then eBay. Soooooo besides having a fun day at the flea market you came away with cool junque. What more can a "Junque Junkie" wish for I ask ya?? :)
Renate!! i'm so jealous again!!! the tools and the watches!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! what will you do with??
I love flea markets so much so thanks for sharing these shots. How funny that I just bought some old goldsmithing tools too!!
How fun to see what you have at flea markets over there! So much more interesting than what we have here. A lion pelt?? Yikes. Thanks for the little glimspe!
Cool finds, especially the goldsmithing tools. My dad used to pan for gold in the Superstition Mountains, and my uncle would melt it down to make jewelry.

I always enjoy seeing your treasures...that picture of the overall market gives us a nice idea of what it is like. I think my jaw dropped when I saw the poetry album...I LOVE the old, worn velvet!!! That type of album has been #1 on my list to search for when I'm out antiquing..it is so hard to find. What a rare treasure.
Those tools look like they've been loved very much just like book of poetry. Very interesting items at that flea market but I think I'd have to pass on the lion skin rug. It would scare me!
Lovely day to you dear! Fun finds! Blessings always!
I would never come across a tigers head at our flea market. Love your findings and thanks for sharing the pics.
