flea market treasures
Another trip to a flea market today and I found some lovely chandelier prisms and some beautiful antique brass buttons, as well as some vintage lace.
BTW, this flea market was in Ingolstadt, a town that isn't very far away; situated on the banks of the (blue) Danube (yes, that Danube, but don't let them fool you, the water isn't blue) and this is also the place where Mary Shelley had Frankenstein create his monster, at the then famous university of Ingolstadt.

I also enjoy hunting for tools at the flea market. I just love those hammers!
more tools
My husband is as crazy about tools as I am. He has been rummaging through his workshop to find tools that are suitable for the small scale work I am doing (he prefers to work on a larger scale). I asked him to build me a tool to use for dapping sheet metal and he did! It's that piece to the right. He also altered an old hammer for me. What a guy!
hardwood dapping tool
Will you take a look at this? He made this for me yesterday, a dapping tool made of hardwood. Isn't it stunning?
BTW, may I introduce you to this one in a million guy? My husband Max.

Hey, what a fun Sunday. I am already looking forward to posts of what you make. Thanks for introducing us to Max, you are lucky.
It is so nice to have your husband support you in your art(mine does to) and to be handsome doesn't hurt either! Thank you for the info re: the floxgloves I had no idea.
I think that makes 2 succesful flea market trips in a row! I love my handmade tools. Each of them was made by my son for specific purposes. Peter is not so handy at that but he does cobble together larger equipment for me. It's great to get that sort of support isn't it!
Greetings! Thanks for stopping by my blog Treasures Found. I love the way you mix the old with the new. I think your jewelry is very soft and pretty and I love that there is a history to the pieces. I wish we had some great flea markets like this in our area. Enjoy the day! Erin
Hi Renate, BTW, great guy you have there!! I also went flea marketing, I'll post my findings later. I actually bought some chandalier crystals exactly like yours 2 weeks ago, and am still in search of the image I want to put behind it. As I told Debbie, it's about 5th on my "want to do list"!!!
Renate, I came to your blog just now through Julie Haymaker Thompson's blog and am so happy I found you! Your jewelry is beautiful and it's fun to see what treasures you can find in Germany. I'll be back often! :) Silke
