Halloween season

There are Halloween parties going on this weekend in blogland! Although I am not having a party, I thought I would show a bit of my witchy side today. Anything to avoid thinking about the dreary cold and rain outside...

This lovely witch was a gift from Max, many moons ago.

My speedster broom - this one is much shorter that a regular broom, making it perfect for flying in the city. Back when I lived in the city, that is.

a yummy real pumpkin and one made of metal, so that I have one all year.

more yummy pumpkins - I get hungry just looking at these. And they will land in the pot eventually.

and wouldn't you know it, the mice are watching... these are very vintage and I have to keep them where my cats don't get at them! At least these don't nibble my gingerbread house!

Gee, mice get everywhere don't they? But they are very cute.

We used to go all out for Halloween when our daughter's lived at home. However, my wife still carves a pumpkin and we hand out gobs of candy.

I love this time of year and Halloween is my favourite holiday. It didn't get celebrated much in Australia. So one of the things I like about being back is handing out sweets and treats. We even dress up for it, carve pumpkins, hang up skeletons...I am very envious of your witch. She is fantastic!

Thanks for the tour around your house! I have yet to decorate (yikes...how can that be when I have kids in the house!). I'm curious...what do you like to make with the gourds? Do you make pumpkin pie too? Hope you're having a great weekend! :-)

Renate what a delightful way to spend a dreary fall day -- I love your photographs and those antique mice are adorable...no wonder you keep them away from the kitties!!!

As for your broom...you made me laugh...I now have this visual of Renate, flying through the skies on her broom...heading to the flea market to find her delightful treasures!!

Have a lovely weekend my friend...stay warm and toasty!!! ♥

What great stuff you have to put about your house. I think this is everyone's favorite time of year, so much color and texture to put out for viewing. I love that broom Max got you. He is certainly a man in tune to you!

Your squash look very yummy, mine will mainly end up in the pot as well. Just one or two will become jack-o-lanterns. And your vintage mice are wee sweet!
