New necklace!

Remember those feathers I acquired last week at the not so wonderful hat show? Well, they inspired me to make a necklace. A piece that is a bit raw amd primitive and colourful; something maybe a shamaness might wear. Made of brass, copper, glass beads, with an etched image and dangles that sport a brass bird, a tiny bird's nest with tiny fresh water pearls, carnelian beads, glass beads and one of my beach pebbles from Tuscany.

Renate,
Your new necklace is wonderful...only a talented artist could dream up such an inventive piece. I love how you used the focal area for the additional dangles and the whole composition. That etched metal pendant is incredible...look at that color. Hope you're having a great Friday!!

Renate: This is a great necklace. I love the way you used the three strands of beads as the necklace. It's that beefy kind of statement you need to pull off the rest of the necklace. And the wire from which all of your dangles hang, looks like a bird's perch. The bird theme is carried throughout the entire necklace. Great design work and execution!

This is a truly exotic necklace and not one that would never go unnoticed. It has a 1920's feel to it that I love.

Oh, Renate! That is so very inventive and imaginative! I think that any woman would fancy herself a shamaness in that piece. I love the way the feathers give color and movement. I still haven't figured out how you attached them. But I like a little mystery in my art. Such an incredible piece from an incredible artist! Enjoy the day!Erin

Well, difficult to find something original, everything has been said, Renate. This necklace is a "petite merveille d'imagination" (a little marvel of imagination).

Love the colors and all the components you combined so lovely.

Renate, i fall in love with Socks' eyes, he seems to be angry about something. In french we will say he is "ronchon". Love him.

Romizous.

Great necklace! Reminds me of the feathered adornments worn by the natives of New Guinea. (Really tickles my fancy - sorry couldn't resist)

I love everything about your new necklace design, it is much to fancy for me to wear but I could see it mounted in a frame as a lovely wall ornament.
